WELCOME MESSAGE

from the UBCDP Co-Presidents

Dear members,

Welcome to the UBC Dollar Project! On behalf of everyone on our current executive team, we would like to congratulate all of you in taking your first step towards becoming leaders of action!

You are not joining just any club, but an award-winning group of talented and passionate individuals who work to produce tangible change. This year is an especially important year for UBCDP because we are the largest we've ever been since our establishment in 2007. With 137 members, we promise to be more active than ever before. We aim to give you more avenues for discussion and exciting social and personal/professional development events to help you grow as individuals.

At the Dollar Project, we are not just about raising money for charity (though, that's important too and we do that regularly!). Beyond fundraisers, we also want to give you opportunities to become catalysts of change and socially responsible global citizens – not only through Campus Conversation Circles, but also through our workshops, the Penny for Your Thoughts video competition and most importantly The Briefing 2012, our annual signature conference. As a member, you will get free admission or discounted rates to our all events and initiatives, plus access to prizes and a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. To celebrate this, we are inviting you as the guests of honor at our icebreaker, which is happening this coming Wednesday evening (details below).

Now that we've opened the door of opportunities for you, we encourage you to step into this environment fostering sustainable growth and collective action. Embrace this chance and become an architect of the future!

See you this Wednesday,
Paul Lao and Opal Leung :)
