Free ferry Rosenlund – Lindholmspiren
You can now travel free on the Älvsnabbaren ferry (line 183) between Rosenlund and Lindholmspiren. Three weeks ago, Älvsnabbare launched an improved service package that includes ferry departures every six minutes in the mornings. The free 183 line does not run on evenings or weekends, and regular rates continue to apply on line 180, Älvsnabben.

Breakfast Seminar with Leif Nilsson – 4 May
Welcome to an inspirational breakfast lecture on the significance of the event with Leif Nilsson, former Managing Director at Göteborg & Co and new Chairman of the Board for STCC.

Inauguration of unique driving simulator at Lindholmen – 18 May
On Wednesday the 18th of May, VTI will unveil a new driving simulator at Lindholmen – the only one of its kind in the world. The new simulator will further strengthen Lindholmen Science Park’s world renown status as a first rate research environment. Swedish Minister for Infrastructure Catharina Elmsäter-Svärd will be presiding over the ceremony. Press preview, inauguration ceremony and open house will be held at the VTI offices at Regnbågsgatan 1, and the seminar will be held at the Lindholmen Conference Centre.

Fast electric vehicle charging being tested in Göteborg
Fast charging has the potential to revolutionize the electric vehicle market. Just 20 minutes of charging can let you drive your PEV for another 100 kilometres. Test Site Sweden is currently launching an exciting fast charging project in collaboration with ABB, Göteborg Energi and TurningPoint to test and evaluate fast charging for electric vehicles in Göteborg. Initially, the project will focus on safety during charging, communication between electric vehicles, charging stations and power grids, and placement of fast charging stations. The results will also include requisite documentation and permits for the installation of fast charging stations.

Visual Forum 2011 – 3 May
On 3 May, Scandinavia’s largest visualization conference will return to Göteborg. The conference attracts delegates from the business community and academia as well as from the public and cultural sectors. All with an interest in discovering the possibilities and potential of visualization technology.

Presentation of project on Societal Security
In April, we presented our activities in Security Arena and current projects in the area of societal security. The annual report presented a current overview of research and concept development in our collaborative environment. The assignment was handed down from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) and implemented in a joint effort by the Saab Group, Ericsson, Volvo Group, Chalmers, the University of Gothenburg and a large number of field experts from industry, municipalities and public agencies.

Sailing Race at Lindholmen – 6 May
Lindholmen’s annual sailing race will be held in the harbour outside the Lindholmen pier on Friday the 6th of May. This is the third year for this regatta, and the goal is for corporate representatives and students to come together and participate in a full day of sailing events and job fairs.
