LXD Customer Spotlight: Det-Tronics^®

Some of the world's most grueling environments are home to oil refineries, chemical plants and offshore platforms.  Det-Tronics creates components designed to function in such installations under the most extreme conditions.  You can find their equipment on the North Slope of Alaska, in the most frigid parts of Russia, the hurricane-prone Gulf of Mexico and in the searing heat of the Middle East.

In addition to functioning in extreme temperature and humidity, many Det-Tronics applications must safely and efficiently function in the presence of combustible gases. Their products are engineered with two protection strategies to ensure the equipment will not ignite surrounding gases.  First, products designed to function in volatile environments are housed in explosion-proof containers. The second is an intrinsic safety design. The total power going to the unit is limited to a level incapable of igniting explosive gases.  All components within the product must operate on power too low to create a spark.
