Here are ways you can help
People often ask, "How can I help? What needs do you have?"
In this email we will show you a variety of needs. Look through all of the needs and see where you can help. It takes the Body of Christ working together to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you for joining with us to help the "least of these." (Matthew 25:35-40)
God is doing so much, and it is very humbling to be part of it. You are part of it too. If you pray, donate, and/or volunteer, you are a big part of what God is doing. And please know, we cannot do what we do without each of you.
Martha and I do as Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 1:2, "We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in your prayers."
The items can be brought to the LIA Ministry Center at 320 N. Foster St. in downtown Dothan on the following days and times:
- Tuesdays, 6-9 p.m.
- Wednesdays, 6-9 p.m.
- Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
** We do not need any clothes**

Hygiene items
Personal hygiene items are needed year-round. The homeless really do care about their hygiene, but most of the time there is nothing they can do about it. We help them in that area. The items listed below are needed. Remember, we see more men than women.
- Deodorant
- Bath or baby powder (small size)
- Lotion
- Body wash
- Shampoo
- Shaving cream
- Razors (multiple blades, more than 2 if possible)

Socks/underwear
The homeless have told us socks are like "gold" to them. Think about it. They are constantly on their feet, so a comfortable pair of new socks is a welcome gift.
Also, new underwear is always in demand for both men and women. However, we see more men than we do women, so please donate more new men underwear - all sizes needed.

New ministry opportunities: As we renovate the Love In Action Ministry Center, new ministry opportunities will become available. At Love In Action, we spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through acts of compassion. By helping people with their physical needs, they realize we care about them, and that opens the door to sharing their No. 1 need, and that is accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Your help in meeting their physical needs helps us reach them with the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Shower Ministry
A new ministry that will begin when we complete the renovation of the LIA Ministry Center is the Shower Ministry. This is going to reach a lot of people. The homeless really do care about their personal hygiene, but often do not have any means to get clean. Soon they will. This will help them feel better about themselves, and it will help them when they have job interviews. Can you help with the following items?
- Towels
- Wash clothes
- Body wash
- Shampoo
- Conditioner

Laundry Ministry
Our brand new washing machine and dryer are hooked up and working. The new Laundry Ministry started up a few weeks ago and it has been a blessing. Imagine not having money to wash your clothes. Or, having to choose between washing your clothes and buying dinner. Those are real decisions some people have to make daily. The LIA Laundry Ministry is a great blessing and we praise God we are able to do it now.

- Adult bicycles (good mode of transportation for those who do not have vehicles)
