Ballot Sharing

For this year's event we will be emailing a copy of all of the ballots to each registered delegate and the provincial coordinators. This will allow us to share all of the ballots with everyone, rather than only those ballots from rounds delegates have participated in, as well as helping us to do our part in 'going green' and helping the environment.

If anyone has any questions or concerns about this don't hesitate to contact the SEDA office at (306)780-9243 or info@saskdebate.com

NO Saskatchewan Teachers' Job Action this week

NEW * As of Wednesday evening, we have not had any notice of any further job action planned for this week!

Airport Pick-Ups

We would like to remind everyone that a member of the SEDA staff will be at the Airport for pick-ups on Thursday May 12. We will be shuttling delegates to the Luther College Campus at the University of Regina, where everyone will be staying for the night before making the trip to Estevan.

There will be supper available on campus for anyone arriving before 5:00 P.M on Thursday.

For those who arrive later, there are many dining options within walking distance of the residence. The options available are; Subway, McDonalds, Taco Del Mar, Trifons Pizza, Pita Pit and Stones Throw Coffee House.

A map of the campus will be provided as people arrive in Regina.

Sunday Activites

For those delegates with flights leaving later on Sunday afternoon we have arranged for some free time after the lunch banquet.

The banquet will be wrapping up around 1:00, leaving some time for activities for those debaters whose flights don't leave until 6 or later.

NEW * Possible options within walking distance are shopping in Regina's downtown, a visit to the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, Mackenzie Art Gallery or a tour of the Saskatchewan Legislature (tours for up to 35 people each are booked for 3:00 and 3:30 pm). All three are in walking distance in Regina`s Wascana Park.

A bus will be meeting delegates back at the Hotel Saskatchewan at 5:00 pm (where the finals and banquets are to be held) for shuttle to the airport. Your luggage will remain secure on the bus during the day. SEDA will take care of anyone with earlier flights.

What to Pack

Everyone is reminded to bring good walking shoes (good for the damp and possible mud) with them, as we will be walking between the hotel and school each day, and also to bring cooler spring weather-appropriate clothing, including umbrellas and warm spring/fall jackets. NEW* Please note that Estevan just had a major rainfall and is in a state of emergency due to the amount of water in the area.

The single-bed dorm rooms at the University of Regina provide pillows, sheets, blankets and towels, however you may want to bring your own towels. You should probably bring your own toiletries (shampoo, etc.) as well.  Please be aware that this is dorm style showers and bathrooms, with males and females on separate floors. Hot water will be available if you want to bring tea, hot chocolate, etc. NEW* There is wireless internet connection available in the dorm lounges only. There is a games cellar at the residence with TVs, pool table and arcade games for casual entertainment Thursday evening. Please feel free to bring cards or other social games if you wish.

Rooming Lists
Please note that the rooming assignments were revised based on the feedback from the last update. If you have any concerns about your rooming assignment, please contact us at 306-530-8811.

Please feel free to call any time with any questions.

SEE you all THURSDAY!
