LEAH Advocacy Group College Outreach Program
Hi <<Club Name>>

My name is Cameron Fen and I am with The LEAH Advocacy Group.  We are an organization dedicated to education and political action concerning the dangers of lawn herbicides, as well as drawing attention to the benefits and proven effectiveness of organic landscaping.  We have pushed for laws in Maine and New Hampshire, phasing out the use of lawn herbicides and other weedkillers on school lawns.  I am writing this to you because despite all the problems of pesticides, developmental problems like lowered IQ, increase risk of cancer, organ damage, asthma and much, much more, colleges across the country continue to use these chemicals to address even some of the most cosmetic of problems.  I know for a fact that many of the schools I am writing to, like Bowdoin or Plymouth State, use herbicides for their lawn care needs.  If you believe, like I believe, that this has to stop, you can make a difference.  Colleges are starting to realize the benefits of going organic: Harvard is maintaining 25 acres of their land and looks to transition to maintaining all 80 acres without pesticides.  The University of Colorado Boulder recently announced that they were also transitioning to an all organic approach for their lawns.  I urge you to talk to your classmates, talk to your teachers, and talk to your administrators.  If you need more information, resources to read, we have hundreds of pages of studies summarized.  Soon you maybe be receiving a newsletter.  We urge you to keep in touch.  You can always email me back at cameronfen@gmail.com.  Again if you don't want to receive any more emails, you can always unsubscribe down below.  Thank you for your time,

Cameron
