AHIP is one of central Virginia’s oldest, most effective and most respected non-profit housing organizations. Since 1976, we have worked to ensure safe and decent housing for our low-income neighbors. We have assisted more than 3,500 people—thousands of households from close-in city streets to far-flung rural hollows—with housing rehabilitations, emergency repairs, a variety of support services and affordable rental units.

"AHIP is about safe houses in safe neighborhoods. Three things are paramount: safety, affordability and better living conditions. No one else in our community does what AHIP does.” Nana Akyeampong-Ghartey, AHIP Board member and client
