A big thank you to all who came to the practice match it was a great game. It certainly gave us something to work between now and Sunday's game. A very special thanks to our goalies Steve and Jai as well as to our umpire Brad.
Our first match is on Sunday 27th March, at Altona, against Williamstown. We will send an email to all players when we have been told the time of the game.
There will be a Women's Umpiring Clinic held at Eltham Lacrosse Clubrooms on Wednesday 6th April at 6.30pm. Anyone who is interested in umpiring girls and women's games or just interested in learning more about women's rules is welcome to come along to clinic.

Parents
If you would like to be more involved with the club there are several options available; as discussed last week, you could offer your services for odd jobs here and there, or take on a regular gig.
For those of you who would like to; here are some of the regular roles available:
1. Team Manager - this role is about ensuring the match goes smoothly on the day by ensuring everyone knows where and when to turn up, the scoring, time keeping and officials are all co-ordinated and that any team equipment such as drink bottles, goalie gear, first aid kit etc is where it should be and in good condition. The team manager will usually distribute a contact list and provide the team with regular updates on club events, game times and notify the team in case of last minute fixture changes.
2. Referee - The Australian Lacrosse Referees Association (ALRA) provides a certain number of referees each week for the home and away season. The club also provides referees for games and there are rules about the level of certification required. If refereeing is your thing you may like to become fully accredited ARLA ref, in which case, contact the ARLA directly. Otherwise, come along to an umpiring traiing session (see women's news).
3. Bench Coach - co-ordinating players to come off or go on the field during matches can at times take all the coach's attention; having someone manage the bench can benefit the play by allowing the head coach to focus on tactics.
4. Training assistant - particularly with the under 12's which is a big group, being able to break out into skills stations during training will require plenty of assistants. If you are available Thursday nights, approach Jai about helping the juniors train.
