March looks like another busy month for many in this sector. There are several networking events coming up and of course, everyone is gearing up for S2S in Edinburgh. Other big events coming up in March include Voice11 in London which is a very useful event for Social Enterprises. The HISEZ team are going to Voice11 so if you are planning on attending do let us know and we will see you there!

Congratulations to Hebridean Chocolates & GREAN!
At the Scottish Social Enterprise Awards at the end of February, 2 Highlands & Islands organisations walked away with top awards. Hebridean Chocolates won Social Enterprise Start-up while GREAN won Social Enterprise of the Year. We are delighted for them both and they now go on to the National Social Enterprise awards, held in London on 30 March.

Congratulations to Lindsay! 
HISEZ works very closely with the Social Enterprise Academy to promote their various programmes across the Highlands and Islands. One such course is the Certificate in Leadership which Lindsay Dunbar, HISEZ's Development Officer has just completed. The 12 day course is spread out over a year and covers leadership theories, identifying leadership skills and action learning. New jobs fund for young people
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) and Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition have announced they will work in partnership with the Scottish Government to deliver a scheme investing a further £10 million in 2011-12 to support unemployed young people into work and training opportunities in a new programme, Community Jobs Scotland. The funding will primarily support 16-24 year olds unemployed for six months or more into a job within a third sector organisation in their community...read more
