November 2011
Where has the year got to? It's November already, the nights are dark and there is still so much to do! We are trying to arrange as many visits as possible before the weather turns unpredictable and this month HISEZ is hosting 4 networking lunches - one in Ross-shire and 3 in the Western Isles. It would be great to see you there so please come along if you can.
In addition to this Brian is heading down to Holyrood for the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition AGM and Parliamentary reception. There is also the UHI Business Ideas competition final to look forward to. We wait in anticipation of the Best Social Enterprise Idea winner and hope they will go on to great things!

Award-winning Artysans!
Artysans Cafè, a social enterprise run by the Calman Trust, in Inverness has already established itself as a firm favourite with the HISEZ team as it has with many others in Inverness so naturally we were delighted to hear that they won Most Innovative at the Highland and Islands Food & Drink Awards in October. They only opened this year so this is a huge success. If you are popping into Inverness for a visit do make your way there and sample the amazing tablet with your coffee! More information on Artysans and their menu can be found here www.artysans.org.uk

Glenfinart Garden project welcomes Cowalfest walkers.
Despite the rain, Ardentinny Community Trust welcomed Cowalfest walkers to Glenfinart Walled Garden on Saturday 15th October. Walkers were able to go around the garden and also view a small exhibition on the project.
It was a plan hatched at a Highlands and Islands Enterprise conference in Ardfern last year. There, Cowalfest organiser, Diane McCormack met with Trust members and suggested they might like to include the Glenfinart garden in this year's programme.
The Trust hopes to build on this and have garden visits and walks included in Cowalfest 2012.
More information on the walled garden project is available online at www.GlenfinartGarden.org.
