LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Delta Gamma Sisters,
"Happiness is Sisterhood, Happiness is Delta Gamma". We share a bond. Our individual bonds were forged at the moment of our initiation. This initiation occurred in different years, and at different universities, but the promise we pledged was universal. Years may have passed, but we are still bound by that same promise.
On behalf of everyone on the Board, I invite and encourage you to join us at our numerous Spring events, starting with our Baked Potato Bar and TOMS Eye Wear Trunk Show at Nancy Tooley's.
Finally, please give careful thought to taking a Board position. It is an honor to work with women of such high caliber as are found in Delta Gamma. There are a number of openings this year that would benefit from YOUR input and efforts. And welcome to our two newest board members: Penny Lain Hensley, VP Communications & E-newsletter Editor; and Jennifer Anthony, Auxiliary Officer.
I'm looking forwarding to greeting each and every one of you this Spring!
ITB,
Nancy Dru Huish, President

COLLEGIATE CORNER
The Sacramento Alumnae Chapter is proud to continue its involvement with the local collegiate chapters: Delta Chi (UC Davis) and Delta Eta (Sac State). Last semester Delta Eta had eight women who graduated. Representatives from the Alumnae chapter attended their Senior Night to perform the alumnae installation ritual and welcomed them to our chapter. The lovely graduates of Delta Eta are: Bianca Angulo, Brittany Perea, Brittany Nelson, Courtney Brown, Juliana Ljubisavljevic, Lahysa Novozhilova, Leanne Orino, and Natalie Vachalek. We welcome these ladies to being members of our alumnae chapter! Congratulations!!
DOING GOOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Ashlie (Montgomery) Bryant (Delta Chi, UC Davis) and
Sue (Bischoff) Mackin (Gamma Lambda, CSU Fresno), both of El Dorado Hills, in 2010 learned that child sex trafficking was a growing problem in California when the daughter of a mutual friend was abducted and trafficked for eight days. Ashlie and Sue, along with friends, founded Run For Courage, Inc (RFC). A nonprofit organization based in El Dorado Hills, RFC hosts 5K & 10K runs to raise awareness and money to support organizations providing restoration services for victims of this crime.
In 2010, Run for Courage held its first 5K/10K race in Folsom. Local businesses contributed sponsorships and 726 runners participated in raising $41,000 for a local restoration home. The 2011 race brought over 1700 runners and raised over $100,000. Ashlie, Sue and their team are planning for 2012 & working to expand RFC races in other cities.
