The Members of Stewarton United Reformed Church were delighted to hear that one of their members has been awarded the MBE in the New Years Honours List.  Mrs Betty Bennett, a former Deacon in the church has been involved in Charity Work for many years.  With her sister, Nancy Fleming, who died during the summer, she has raised in excess of £50,000 for various Charities.  They operted a Charity Shop for Erskine Hospital in the town, and Betty continues to do so.

Well into her eighties, she undertakes the Boxing Day Dip at Prestwick to raise funds for the Malcolm Sargent home.  The honour is well deserved.
